Refund Policy
Last updated: 28 June 2026
1. Sales via Paddle (Merchant of Record)
Paid OttaNote subscriptions are sold, invoiced and handled by Paddle as Merchant of Record. Refunds and payment queries are therefore handled through Paddle, in addition to what is set out below and in the terms.
2. Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU/EEA)
- OttaNote Plus is a digital service with immediate access. Your purchase is made through Paddle as Merchant of Record; Paddle's Buyer Terms apply. Under those terms, at checkout you consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal once access begins (in line with EU Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m)).
- Not happy after all? We keep it simple: request a refund within 14 days of purchase (see below) and you'll get your money back — a goodwill arrangement on our part, in addition to what mandatory law and Paddle's policy provide.
3. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation
- Subscriptions (monthly/yearly) renew automatically until you cancel.
- Cancellation is possible at any time through Paddle's customer portal (link in the app). You keep Plus until the end of the period already paid for; the current period is not refunded on a pro-rata basis, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
- After cancellation, your account reverts to the free plan.
- A lifetime purchase is one-time: it does not renew and you don't need to cancel it. The 14-day refund (§2) applies to it just the same.
4. Goodwill in case of problems
In the event of a technical malfunction that materially prevented you from using the service, a double or unintended payment, or a request submitted immediately after renewal, we will seek a reasonable solution (for example a refund or extension). Get in touch — see §6.
5. How to request a refund
- Through your Paddle invoice/customer portal, or
- via support@ottanote.com with your order details (invoice number or the email address of your account).
- We respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Paddle to your original payment method.
6. Chargebacks
If you have a problem with a payment, please contact us first — that is faster than a chargeback. An unjustified chargeback may lead to suspension of the account.
7. Mandatory consumer law
Nothing in this policy limits the mandatory consumer rights that apply to you in your country of residence.
